This type of installation often creates a dilemma for decision makers: if sediment enters the structure, it is impossible to gain access to clean it.

Infiltration and storage of groundwater - Nidaplast

Since its creation in 1984 in Thiante, near Valenciennes, France (59), nidaplast has been designing, manufacturing and selling its products, namely blocks and panels in extruded polypropylene honeycombs, for everyday use in industry, construction, civil engineering and landscaping.

Nidaplast has demonstrated its ability to innovate and propose solutions for its construction, renovation and rehabilitation projects. Nidaplast has a wide range of lightweight, durable and effective products.

Thermoplastic honeycomb was created by combining materials (plastic) and structure (honeycomb) as part of an innovative research program in the 1980s, in order to obtain durable and very lightweight materials. The present invention was intended to open to a wider audience, a technology already used in the aerospace industry: honeycombs used in the core of structural panels. Nidaplast is proud to have initiated the integration of this technique into structures used in ships, buildings, industrial equipment, etc. Today Nidaplast has a return on investment of several million m2 of products sold worldwide and used as composite materials for lighting structures.

Polypropylene honeycombs very quickly showed their significant potential in other areas as well, especially in the form of cell blocks or slabs for rainwater retention, illuminated embankments, as well as for strengthening or stabilizing floors.

Nidaplast EP-S 400

Rainwater management is a problem, (in some areas), requiring urgent response to prevent floods that cause damage. Most current solutions require corrective action.

"Alternative techniques" such as infiltration, control basins, drainage techniques, dry wells, etc. will help limit the flow of precipitation. These techniques can be applied in individual homes, increasing the ability to manage precipitation and infiltration.

Dimensions and logistical conditions Nidaplast EP-S 400 (2m3/ pallet) are ideal for the production of this type of system.

It is easy to transport and apply and enables easy and fast installation of dry wells, drainage trenches, etc.

Nidaplast EP

EP area: clean and self-cleaning storage model

Retention basins are made of modular blocks to prevent flooding in the event of a storm and to regulate the flow of water treated downstream of the system.

This type of installation often presents a dilemma: what if sediment enters the structure, it is impossible to get access for cleaning.

A study conducted at the University of Sheffield (UK) on hydro clogging has shown that it is possible to prevent block contamination by installing a Nidaplast system with drains at the bottom. In this way, most of the contaminants found in the precipitation pass directly through the drain and do not pass into the inner blocks.

Furthermore, a study conducted by the Technical Study Center CETE de I'EST on several Nidaplast pools, showed positive performance of the module after more than 10 years of use. The experience gained on more than one million m3 laid also supports the position of Nidaplast EP / Nidaflow EP as the most secure system on the market, while guaranteeing a reduction in operating costs.
